Default Banned on 1st day

Hey,
I'm obviously new here, but I really needed to rant or get any sort of advice.

I moved to china from the US.
I bought the guild wars trilogy a few weeks ago on Steam.
I had tons of connection problems which were resolved a week ago.

I connected and played for a total of <3 hours (i just f'd around and got 2 people to level 3).
The next day my account was banned.
This is the email conversation i had with the GM.

Hello,

The account was permanently closed because it was involved in the sale of in-game items for cash or other items with real world value, or otherwise engaged in gathering items to be sold for cash or other items with real world value. Both actions are against our User Agreement, where Section 7 states, "You may not sell or auction any Guild Wars accounts, characters, items, coin or copyrighted material, nor may you assist others in doing so."

Please keep in mind that Guild Wars is a global game with hundreds of thousands of players. This means that standards of behavior must be upheld. For your convenience, you can obtain more information about our rules at the address listed below.

I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous.

I'm sure that you can see I bought the game on steam very recently:

I had nothing of worth or value to sell for real world dollars nor did i
acquire any items or other accounts of worth via mail or trade.

I simply ask that you double check the records of the account and you'll see
that absolutely nothing illegal happened while I was accessing the game.

It is possible someone hijacked my account but even that is very unlikely
since I was banned only a few hours after first accessing my account.

Hello,

Due to the violations committed by this account, it will remain closed. We will not accept appeals in cases such as this because of the depth of the analysis prior to the block.

Please keep in mind that Guild Wars is a global game with hundreds of thousands of players. This means that standards of behavior must be upheld and we will take all necessary actions to protect the Guild Wars community and to assure that players are abiding by our User Agreement. For your convenience, you can obtain more information about our rules at the address listed below.

Did NCSoft seriously just take my money and give me the finger just because i connected from China?

W. T. F.

EDIT: Gaile did, in fact, fix this and got my account back. Thanks Gaile and thanks guildwarsguru for informing me about her! <3

1. Contact Gaile.

2. If we're talking about mainland China, it's not surprising. You're probably using a proxy to get past the firewall, so you've got the same IP (as viewed from a-net's end) as numerous other people, a few thousand of whom are RMT workers/bots. (Though why they didn't check your account logs to see that nothing of value moved across your account, I don't know.)

I think NCSoft gave you the finger, they tend to do that in many situations

Hahahahahahah 'depth of the analysis prior to the block'.

Good work guys, that whole 3 hours of analysis is pretty deep.

I've learned that when I talk to people about Guild Wars, I have to justify why I play a game run by such a godawful parent company and a godawful support team. The honest answer is because I've never had to deal with either of them.

OP, I wish you luck in your endeavors. Guild Wars isn't half the game it used to be, but at least it's an amusing way to pass the time. Just realize that if you ever have to deal with support again, you'd probably have a better chance of swimming the length of the Yangtze than to stay remotely sane through the support process.

Contact Gaile on her wiki page and let her know what is going on. IF what you say is true she will get it corrected for you.

I'd hate to sound harsh, but welcome to the wonderful world of NCSoft.

I DO hope things get straightened out for you though.

Could hijackers have used his account to middleman/trade items they sold online? There should be a trail either way. Especially with their extensive monitoring. Hope you get this resolved soon.

Indeed, you can't trade within the first 24hrs anyway! So I've no idea what they are going on about. I've found NCsoft support to be useful in the past, but I've never tried appealing against anything cus I've always been lucky enough never to be mistaken for a bot.

Keep trying on the support route, just email until they take notice. Also contact Gaile. Just keep trying until they HAVE to check your account.

Sadly I think this might be the problem. Not that it's by any means your fault.

Like others said I suggest you contact Gaile - She's the more human (often too human ) face of support.

Be sure to mention that you've been stonewalled by support. She often knows the buttons to press.

A few things that may be useful:

- You cannot trade within 24 hours of making the account. If you have a receipt for the purchase and show its been under 24 hours since you were banned them RMT is a weak argument

- The only other RMT option is spamming advertisements in towns. They should have chat logs for these.

- Be sure you have the following details to hand to hopefully speed up the request;
# Your name
# Your game account name(s)
# Your address
# Your telephone number
# Your birth date
# Your access keys (a scan of the key would be super helpful)

I hope this gets sorted out for you mate.

I lol when they say this, the GM's that answer with that don't do really analyze anything, they just look at the foot notes of the bot controlled GM that banned the player put on their account.

Did you move to china and then buy the game, or did you buy the game in america and then move to china? If it's the former, then it sounds like the usual level of NCsoft incompetence. If it's the latter, then you may have been flagged as a stolen account.

I think it might be slightly offtopic, but I've already reached my 10th automatic reply, assuming i still got the luck to be getting automatic replies from anet. I'm still trying to prove my innocence since I got banned for the so called "botting", but the middle finger says hi to me.
